Storage should be done in the original packaging, which is designed to protect the bearing from corrosion and environmental influences.
Depending on the selected alloy, corrosion may occur in a damp or wet environment, therefore it is recommended to always store F-M Deva bearings in a dry place.
Storage in the intended packaging or covering of the parts, protects against dust and foreign particles, which could cause damage to the sliding surface in case of insufficient cleaning during later operation.
Plastic composite plain bearings such as deva.tex® have a very high UV resistance, but should not be exposed to direct sunlight for storage.
In the past, lead was used to improve the metallic running properties. deva.metal® materials were and still are partly produced with the addition of lead powder. The friction or the coefficient of friction μ depends on the normal force. In polar friction pairings, the adhesive portion of the coefficient of friction is very high due to the attraction of the friction surface at low normal force.
