In the case of press-fit bearings, the actual inner diameter of the bearing is only determined after mounting. Thin-walled bearings such as deva.bm® or deva.tex® often only achieve their dimensional accuracy when they are firmly seated in the housing. Therefore, measuring the bearings only makes sense when they are mounted. Depending on the requirements for measuring accuracy, internal measuring equipment such as calipers, internal measuring probes or a coordinate measuring machine are necessary for bushings. A simple, but nevertheless quite accurate method is the measurement with internal measuring probes.
