STEFFEN KROPP REPRESENTS DEVA ON THE NORDTRIB 22'

At the NordTrib Conference 2022, one could once again see the diversity of the subject area of tribology. This shows that tribology surrounds us every day. The lectures were very diverse in content, ranging from the analysis of shoe soles on different surfaces and intermediate media, to skiers, to plain bearing pairings in water turbines or hot applications. I was also interested in various presentations on plastics such as modified PTFE for better bonding in PEI or PAI, as well as glycerine as a substitute for oil-filled Kaplan runners or the influence of different surface structures in different tribosystems.

With my presentation "Influence of temperature on friction and wear of sintered maintenance free sliding bearings deva.metal®" we as Deva were able to make a small contribution to the diversity of the conference. The results of our research work will help us in the future to reliably design sliding bearing systems under temperature stress for our customers.

The digital world is still far from being able to replicate human interaction as well as it does in real life. And I hope it will stay that way for a long time to come. Despite typical Scandinavian temperatures and weather conditions, the atmosphere in Ålsund at NordTrib was warm and cordial. The social program left enough time to get to know the colleagues.
